Carriers and Pets
What people need to know. Understanding JLPP Carrier and what it means for a pet owner. All breeders, be it Registered or Non Registered breeding dogs should be tested for JLPP. I would like to shed some light on this subject as it seems there is incorrect perceptions in regards to JLPP carriers to you as a perspective puppy buyer. The carrier are ONLY a Carrier of the gene JLPP, They do NOT show signs of the disease nor will they at any stage of their lives, they live out a normal life in every sense of the word. Having a Rottweiler as a pet that is a JLPP carrier only means that it carries the gene and 'may' only pass on the gene if bred from. Pets that come from breeders usually are to be desexed and not breed from if this does not happen and the dog is bred from YOU MUST test the male and female and insure the 2 carries are not mated this will produce an affected litter, mating a carrier to a clear is OK, and it will not produce an affected litter. The thing you need to know if you buy a carrier as a pet the dog will not have a problem in its life from JLPP, you can breath easy that your pet wont have a problem from JLPP. If you you need to know more on this please email my or have a look at the links proved to help you understand JLPP.
